Are you looking for a simple stress management tool that supports self care?  Are you looking to calm your responses to stress, tension and trauma?  Do you feel emotionally stuck, frightened, angry, that you 'zone out' or 'drift off?' Or, perhaps, you are looking to give yourself space to find a place of calm.  If you answered yes to any of these questions, or are curious about body-based therapy, TRE® is really worth exploring.


TRE® or Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system.  When this shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.  TRE® is based on the idea that stress, tension and trauma is both physical and psychological.  After a TRE® session, many people report feelings of peace and wellbeing. Other reported benefits include:  less worry and anxiety, reduced symptoms of PTSD, more energy and endurance, improved relationships, less workplace stress, better sleep, reduced pain, relief from chronic medical conditions, increased flexibility and greater emotional resilience.  


TRE® is a safe and effective stress release technique for most people. This shaking mechanism in the muscles is part of our natural behaviour as humans.  Releasing emotions ranging from mild upset to severe anxiety,  it is designed to be a self-help tool that can be used as needed throughout a person's life to access good physical and mental health. You can let your body do its own healing and clear out overwhelming experiences. TRE® can also be used as an effective complementary practice when integrated with other therapeutic approaches.  We work slowly and safely and sessions are truly tailored to your needs and intentions.


I offer different ways to learn TRE®.  Just like you would with Yoga or Pilates, you might like to attend a small group session.  These are suitable if you have done TRE® before. Or, you might prefer an individual session to become familiar with TRE® and then join a group session.  I would also recommend individual sessions if you have a trauma history.


You might be someone who would like more patience with your family; a victim of violence, accident or other traumatic experience or a person who wants to become more resilient and just feel better about life. You can benefit from the wonders of TRE®.  I have found TRE® to be life changing.  I hope you will too.
