Clinical Psychologist
Kathy is not currently taking on new clients at this time.

Having qualified as Clinical Psychologist in 2009 I worked within NHS Mental Health services before moving to work within NHS Health Psychology. I now work fully in the private sector. I work with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, psychological trauma / PTSD, sexual trauma and abuse, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, difficulties with eating and weight management, Chronic Pain, Chronic Fatigue and adjusting to long-term health conditions.
My main therapeutic approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) but I also draw on ideas from Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I find it helpful to think with you about the type of approach that you might find helpful depending on your hopes for therapy and the areas you are hoping to change.
I see therapy as an opportunity to think with someone else in a respectful and open manner in order to understand why certain difficulties have arisen, as well as being an opportunity to develop new skills and coping strategies to help improve quality of life.
I am approved by the main health insurers such as BUPA, AXA, Vitality and Cigna. If you do wish to pursue appointments through health insurance, please do get in touch and I can check whether I am registered with that provider.
I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
My qualifications are:
-
BA (Hons) Psychology, The University of Manchester
-
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, The University of Teesside.
