Hello

I’m Aiveen. I have been registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist since 2012 and I have extensive experience of working with people who have wide ranging support needs. I am also Co Clinical Director of Systemisk Psychology Ltd; a small practice offering psychological services across West and North Yorkshire. I have been part of the Align team since April 2024 and I currently offer individual therapy to young people and adults.

I am highly skilled in developing individualised, evidence based therapeutic offers to support people through challenging times. My core therapeutic approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is an evidence based psychotherapy that is designed to support people to respond effectively to difficult thoughts and feelings. ACT helps people to do more of “what matters” even when life is challenging. ACT is suitable for people with a wide range of presenting difficulties including anxiety, low mood and stress. ACT seeks to go beyond diagnostic labels and get to the root cause of a person’s struggle.

I also have a keen interest in employee well-being. Prior to working in private practice, I worked for over 15 years in the public sector (HMPPS). As a Principal Psychologist, I developed extensive experience supporting other professionals to thrive in challenging work environments. In addition to my therapy offer; I provide supervision, reflective practice sessions and resilience training to help people respond effectively to the demands of their work roles.

Core to all the work I do is a belief that all humans are capable of rising beyond the challenges they are faced with to find meaning and fulfilment.
